Steve Beeson is responsible for the original "look and feel" of this site as well as the site logo. Steve used Adobe Illustrator to create the original mock-up homepage and color scheme for the site. The current ecept homepage looks similar to Steve's original mock-up, although Rod has slowly been making small modifications as time has passed. Steve was also the primary author of the first layout "skin" we created while working on an early beta version of this site. In addition, Steve has also played a significant role in planning this site, and has contributed a number of ideas. Lastly, some of you may also be familiar with Steve's work on the Patterns in Nature website. Gretchen Corey Gretchen Corey has created most of the topic icons you see on the homepage. Gretchen has also done a lot of work on ecept's sister site, ACEPT Robert Crocombe Robert Crocombe was our designated perl hacker for about a year or so, and wrote a lot of cgi's and helped get the site up and running. Robert has now graduated and moved on to bigger and better things. Rod Heyd Rod Heyd is the technical director of ecept. As technical director, Rod does just about everything from managing the computer systems and writing perl scripts to rebuilding the Apache source code. Rod also co-authored the NSF proposal for this site, so now you know who to blame. Monika Soroczynska Monika Soroczynska took over the perl hacker title when Robert graduated. Monika is now starting to write slash plugins for the website as well as helping with the general day to day work that has to get done when you run a dynamically generated website like ecept. Susan Wyckoff Susan Wyckoff is the PI for this project. Sue, Rod, and Steve are the people who are going to build this project into the premier site for Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology Education information.
This site would not be possible without the funding of The National Science Foundation. In addition, there are several on going projects that this site depends on:
Slashcode is run by the good folks at OSDN, but like all good open source projects, depends on the community. Thanks for your continued support, and let us know what we can do to make the site better. Slash and Slashcode could not be possible without the use of some great Open Source software. Slash was originally written by CmdrTaco and CowboyNeal. Slashcode is run by CaptTofu, Krow and pudge. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
