Questions Regarding CETP Funded Faculty Positions

David Kanter has written in with a question for the established collaboratives about CETP funded faculty positions:

I just got off the phone with Dr. Mary Schwanke, Dept. of Natural Science, U. of Maine at Farmington, who has a CETP award through which she's offering a joint science/science education faculty position as part of their efforts to improve their teacher educ. program in science and math. It was her impression that just about all of the CETP awards had such positions.

I'm trying to get enough information together for the dean of the school of education and the chair of the dept. of biomedical engineering here at Northwestern to turn what is currently my joint post-doc doing science and engineering education research into a faculty-level position. Can you point me to any info at the various CETP cites that might have examples of such a position?

How has your collaborative handled the creation of faculty positions? If you wish, you may respond to David directly. However, since this is a question likely to be of interest to the other new collaboratives, please post a response below so everyone can benefit from the exchange.
