Student Teacher ECEPT Message 1/19/01
Here are five items I use for evaluating student teachers.
I need your feedback on each of the items below. Your responses are required in order for you to get seminar credit from me. So don't delay, respond today!
First click on the "Post a Comment" button. This gets you to the correct page to have your comments visible so others can view and react to them as well. The items will again be visible on the "Comments" page when you get there.
Second - describe what you think the item means.
Third describe a situation in your classroom that illustrates how you think the item might happen in your classroom. This situation might be real or hypothetical.
Fourth Do this for all five items in one submission. Make sure to let us all know which item youre talking about (number the items appropriately).
Fifth Post your responses to the items all in one lump. Its actually easier that way!
Here are the Items
1. The instructional strategies and activities respected students prior knowledge and the preconceptions inherent therein.
2. The lesson was designed to engage students as members of a learning community.
3. In this lesson, student exploration preceded formal presentation.
4. This lesson encouraged students to seek and value alternative modes of investigation or of problem solving.
5. The focus and direction of the lesson was often determined by ideas originating with students.
