What's going on all you T.E.A.M.S students? I know all of you will be checking out this website sooner or later! This should be a great opportunity to communicate with other pre-service teachers around the country. I look forward to the exchange of ideas. While reading Lawson,Abraham, and Renner's "A theory of instruction" I came across a really cool set of characteristics I want to post in my classroom. Hopefully someone else will find them useful.
Here they are:
1. Longing to know and to understand.
2. Questioning of all things.
3. Search for data and their meaning.
4. Demand for verification.
5. Respect for logic.
6. Consideration of premises.
7. Consideration of consequences.
See all of you soon!
Jeff

This bulletin board seems it can be useful for pre-servie teachers. I think that it may be even more useful if the messages can be placed into categories, such as elementary, middle school, and secondary, or possibly classroom management, instructional techniques, etc. Otherwise, it seems to be a cery useful tool that it well-designed.

P>Those are some interesting ideas. The kind of structure you suggest could be added at some point in the future, if needed. However, with this being a brand new website, I would like to avoid splitting off those threads too quickly.

Alternatively, we have had discussions during the early planning meetings for a "questions" section (as soon as we can come up with a good name for it, we'll probably start it up!) where both beginning in-service and pre-service teachers could submit questions, which the community at large could tackle. In this way the questions kind of segregate themselves into the various categories you have suggested. At least that's how I see it shaking out for the next 6 months or however long it will take to build up a critical mass of regular users of the site.

Hey Jeff. Interesting set of characteristics you found. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one looking for stuff to put up on the walls of my classroom.
I like the idea behind this website.

The basic structure of the chat page has potential in spite of it's variety. The ECEPT page could concentrate more on the student teaching experience for future science and math teachers.
